Football expert, Raphael Honigstein has claimed that Arsenal had an offer rejected for RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg last summer.
When it comes to transfers in football, so much happens behind the scenes that we may never know which clubs are after which players.
Well, one relatively unknown potential transfer involving Arsenal has been revealed by the German football expert, Raphael Honigstein.
Honigstein told his Twitter followers that the Gunners had an offer for Emil Forsberg turned down by the player’s club, RB Leipzig last summer.
An offer for Forsberg from Arsenal was turned down in the summer. Not in January.

Forsberg is a Swedish international who has shone in the Bundesliga in the last couple of seasons.
Honigstein went on to say that the bid was made by Arsenal before the Gunners turned their attention to other targets in the market.
Emil Forsberg is a fine player and would’ve been a solid signing for Arsenal last summer. However, the situation has changed since then and wide midfield is hardly the position most in need of strengthening.
