The agent of Nabil Fekir has opened the door to a potential summer move with Arsenal reportedly keen on the midfielder (via The Metro).
When lists of potential Arsenal signings get drawn up, one man’s name is usually near the top.
Nabil Fekir has been linked with a move to the Emirates for a number of years and these reports have only amped up after the Frenchman’s incredible season in Ligue 1.
Fekir has scored 16 goals in 24 league matches this season and now, the player’s agent has responded to rumours that his client is looking to leave Lyon in the summer.
“If at the end of the season, and this is not the case today, there was a decision to be made, then we would sit down with President Aulas and we would find the right solution,” Jean-Pierre Bernes told Le Dauphine Libere.
“Respecting first and foremost Olympique Lyonnais. At home, we do not leave like a savage or after a showdown. Nabil is in a big French club if not the biggest.
“You know very well that at some point, we may be able to ask questions about a departure. The decision will be taken in all intelligence, as professionals, and especially in the interests of all parties.
“When you leave your training club, to whom we owe everything, we leave in good conditions. If we have to leave…Nabil has the personal goal of being part of a top 10 club in Europe.
“He has the potential. Without burning the steps. A career, it is built, little by little. We must not burn ourselves, be careful, because football, it goes quickly.”
Nabil Fekir is a fantastic player but the Gunners are hardly lacking in options in attacking midfield right now. A goalkeeper, a centre-back and a central midfielder should be higher up the list of transfer targets in the summer.
