Arsenal are set to make their first signing of the summer, with Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac agreeing to a five year deal according to Schalke 04 reporter Raphael Wiesweg.
The left back is out of contract with the Bundesliga side this summer and has been tracked by several big clubs after six years with Schalke that seen him emerge as one of the leagues top wing backs.
For free, Kolasinac seems a huge coup for Arsenal who will be in the market for a left back this summer with Nacho Monreal showing signs of decline and Kieran Gibbs clearly a backup in Arsene Wenger’s mind.
Wiesweg states the Bosnia international will join the Gunners for free and has agreed to a five year deal in north London.
Der Abgang von @seadk6 ist fix. Sead #Kolasinac hat bei @Arsenal einen 5-Jahres-Vertrag unterschrieben. #S04 #Schalke
— Raphael Wiesweg (@RaphaelWiesweg) May 13, 2017
The tweet translates to:
The departure of @seadk6 is fixed. Sead #Kolasinac has signed a 5-year contract with @Arsenal. #S04 #Schalke
Although we will have to wait for official confirmation on this, his departure on a Bosman Free is all but confirmed and Arsenal have been long linked with Kolasinac.
The physical and robust defender would be a welcomed addition especially in a more advance role as a left wing back should the Gunners stick with the current three at the back formation.
More to follow as it unfolds.
