Arsenal sent scouts to watch Torino striker Andrea Belotti in action on Saturday night in their derby clash with Juventus, according to the Sunday Express.
The Gunners’ interest in the prolific forward was revealed earlier this season with the Serie A side claiming they had turned down a huge bid for their prolific striker.
Belotti has scored 30 goals for club and country in all competitions this season, which has seen him linked with a number of top clubs, and widely expected to leave Torino this summer.
The latest report claims Arsenal could turn to Belotti should they miss out on top target Alexandre Lacazette who has recently admitted he only wants to join a club that can offer Champions League football.
Atletico Madrid are now believed to be at the head of the queue for Lacazette while Arsenal may struggle to be able to tempt the forward to the Emirates, as they are facing an uphill battle to finish in the top four.
However, Arsenal are not the only club interested in Belotti with the report claiming that Chelsea and Manchester United both want the Torino man.
The Blues could be in the market for a striker with Diego Costa widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer while United have struggled for goals this season and have been over-reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Whether Arsenal could afford Belotti remains to be seen, however, the Italian reportedly has an £80 million buy-out clause which could price the Gunners out of a move.
