Morata Keen On Arsenal Move

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is keen on a move to Arsenal and would accept an offer in the summer should his current frustrations at the Bernabeu continue, according to Diario Gol.

The Spanish outlet report that Florentino Perez has been angered by the striker’s attitude in recent weeks and will not stand in his way if an acceptable offer arrives.

The Liga club are willing to accept offers of €60 million (£51.3m) for the Spain international who has become frustrated with a lack of game time in recent weeks.

Morata has nine goals for Zinedine Zidane’s side this season but has made just six La Liga starts and has not started in the league since early December.

The 24-year-old only rejoined Madrid last summer when the club activated a buy-back clause to bring him back from Juventus.

However, his time at Madrid may well be coming to an end and Morata will surely want regular football next season ahead of World Cup 2018.

This is not the first time Arsenal have been linked with a move for the striker, they have also been linked with Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsene Wenger has also been asked about his interest in such forwards and while he did not dismiss them entirely he did point to the players currently at his disposal.

“We have Welbeck coming back,” he said regards reported interest in Morata. “We have Giroud, Sanchez, Walcott, Perez who is doing very well.

“We have plenty of strikers. We have Chuba Akpom, Sanogo. We have a high number of strikers.”

While Arsenal are certainly not lacking in attack this season, signing a top striker would only improve the squad.

Who should Arsenal sign? Aubameyang, Belotti, Morata? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
