Borussia Dortmund are apparently refusing to sell Arsenal target Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer, instead choosing to hold onto him for one more season and letting him go for free, according to the Express.
We’ve been heavily linked with Mkhitaryan recently, as the Armenian has just a year left on his current contract. It was believed that Dortmund would essentially be forced into selling him this summer to avoid losing him for free, but the report suggests they would rather keep him for another season and miss out on the cash.
The 27-year-old was absolutely phenomenal this past season, scoring and assisting freely and helping Dortmund to second place in the Bundesliga. He would be a brilliant signing, but this has really raised questions over the potential transfer.
That said though, it seems unlikely that the German side would be willing to pass up the opportunity to bring in what could potentially be a massive sum. The Daily Star claim we were looking to do a deal for around £24m, and while Arsene Wenger would probably look to knock that price down a little, it would be madness for Dortmund to throw away that much money.
There isn’t nearly as much money in the Bundesliga as there is in the Premier League, so they can’t afford to turn down big money moves like that. £24m could go a long way for Dortmund, so these reports are certainly somewhat questionable.

If a potential move is still on for Mkhitaryan, then we’ll be facing competition from Chelsea (via the Express). With the players currently on their books, they lack of Champions League football, and the potential return of Juan Cuadrado though, we should really be leading the chase for his signature.
