The internet has already begun tearing into the latest Arsenal transfer rumour, with Alexandre Pato currently being linked with a move to the Emirates, as reported by the Evening Standard.
The story linking the Brazilian with a North London switch is somewhat tenuous, but at this late stage in the transfer window many fans are clinging onto any hope they can get.
The rumours were sparked after the 25-year-old followed Arsenal on Twitter (via the Standard), something many players do ahead of moves to a new club.
Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of Pato’s, and followed him during his time at AC Milan, as the report reveals.
The Frenchman is a fan of many players however, and the Twitter link alone is certainly not enough to convince most fans that Pato will be our second signing of the summer.
He is currently owned by Brazilian side Corinthians, but is on loan with Sao Paulo. He hasn’t enjoyed the best scoring record since his return to his homeland, and there’s not reason to think it would improve in England.
