After the season Riyad Mahrez has had he’s understandably being chased by a number of top clubs, and his agent suggests there’s a 50/50 chance he could leave Leicester City this summer, according to the The Guardian.
The Algerian winger has unquestionably been fantastic this season, scoring 17 goals and laying 11 on a plate for his teammates in the Premier League alone.
He’s been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United also registering an interest (via the Express).
His agent claims that any offers from big clubs will have to be considered, and suggests that Leicester may find it difficult to hold onto the 25-year-old.
“Of course there is a possibility [he will leave]. When you have been playing the way Riyad has this season it is bound to attract attention,” he said.
“He is very happy with Leicester and of course it has been a fantastic season. They play in the Champions League next year as well so he would be happy to stay.
“But at his age if the opportunity comes to play for a big team then we would have to think about it. I’d say it’s 50/50 at the moment whether he stays or goes”.
Although you can’t take anything a footballer says as gospel nowadays, the tricky winger has previously ruled out a move to PSG, suggesting he had no interest in returning to Paris (via Onze). He’s instead keen to remain in the Premier League, which really puts us in the driver’s seat.
As his agent states, the Foxes have already managed to secure Champions League football for next season. If Mahrez does leave, he’s unlikely to want to join a club that hasn’t qualified for the competition, which seriously limits his options.
Leicester look likely to be joined by Tottenham, Arsenal, and Manchester City, and there’s no reason to think we can’t beat both sides to his signing.

There’s obviously no telling whether Mahrez’s form this season is anything more than a one off, but if he can replicate the form he’s been showing throughout the campaign then he’d be a phenomenal signing.
