We’ve repeatedly been linked with Real Madrid star Isco in the past, but have never seen anything concrete. Real Madrid have apparently given us the green light to make a move for the Spaniard though, putting a £25m price tag on his head, according to El Confidencial (via the Express).
Things have been fairly quiet on the transfer front since we signed Mohamed Elneny, but things have been heating up over the last few days. Reports from Spain suggest we’ll be making one more signing before the end of the window, and claim it could well be Isco.
The former Malaga man has struggled to cement his place at the Santiago Bernabeu, and has consistently been pushed out of the side by bigger names. He isn’t a bench warmer by any stretch, but he would unquestionably like to see more regular first team football.
That is something Arsene Wenger may be willing to offer, and Isco may actually be ideal for the manager’s style. Wenger likes to play a slightly more centrally minded player on one wing, with Aaron Ramsey regularly performing that role in the past. Isco is arguably far more adept at it though, and could slot in to any number of positions.
Real Madrid are apparently willing to cash in on Isco, and as long as we meet their valuation he’s for sale. £25m is fairly reasonable given the price many players have gone for, so Wenger might just be tempted.

With just a few days left in the transfer window it’s hard to see such a high profile move happening, but strange things have certainly happened.
