Arsenal are reportedly still actively scouting Lyon’s Nabil Fekir despite Arsene Wenger’s impending exit from the club (via Sport Witness).
With Nabil Fekir’s pace and technical ability, he’s the sort of player that Arsene Wenger has always been a fan of.
As such, the French midfielder has long been rumoured to be an Arsenal target before the big news of the last few weeks.
Arsene Wenger’s departure will change almost everything at Arsenal but not the club’s interest in Nabil Fekir.
French publication Mercato365 has reported that Arsenal sent scouts to watch Fekir during Lyon’s 5-2 victory over Dijon last week.
Fekir grabbed a goal in the win, his 22nd of an impressive campaign in all competitions.
Nabil Fekir is a fantastic player and is having the best season of his career. He has long been rumoured to be an Arsenal target and would surely fit in well with the team’s current style of play. However, an attacking midfielder should not be Arsenal’s biggest target this summer. Fekir is under contract for two more years and would cost a lot of money. Perhaps his signing is something which can be explored next season.
