Francis Coquelin has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Valencia over a proposed move to the Spanish side (via RMC Sport).
Transfers in football can be drawn out for months but sometimes, it doesn’t take very long at all to finalise a deal.
This proposed move is definitely the latter as Francis Coquelin’s likely exit from Arsenal has gone from rumour to almost completed within just a few days.
It was on Monday that we reported that Coquelin could leave the club in January with West Ham United cited as the likely destination.
That deal seemed to have stalled with the French publication, RMC Sport claiming that the midfielder has now agreed on a move to Spanish side, Valencia.
Coquelin would join former Gunner, Gabriel Paulista at the club in a deal which is rumoured to be worth £12 million.
It is claimed that this move could be finalised within 24 hours which would spell the end of Francis Coquelin’s lengthy spell at the club. It’s only a few months until the ten-year anniversary of Coquelin’s move to North London but it seems that he won’t be staying long enough to celebrate it. He has been a good player for the club at times but it’s probably for the best that he is set to leave.
