Reports in Chile indicate that Manchester City are planning on suing Arsenal FC after the collapse of the Alexis Sanchez deal (via Emol.com).
In a chaotic last week of the transfer window, Arsenal went from determined to keeping Alexis Sanchez to eager to get rid of him to resigned to keeping him again.
Manchester City truly believed that they had bagged their man on deadline day but the deal was dependent on Arsenal securing the services of Thomas Lemar, something which didn’t happen.
City were reportedly adamant that they had gotten their man and that Alexis Sanchez would be a Manchester City player.
That, obviously, is not the case and now, City aren’t content to stand by and wait for the forward’s contract to expire next summer.
Reports in Chile suggest that Manchester City are ready to take legal action against Arsenal under the grounds that they believed Sanchez had already signed a deal with City.
It remains to be seen whether or not there is any truth in these reports or whether City have a case. Reports do suggest that they truly believed Alexis Sanchez was a City player but if there is no legal wrongdoing then there’s nothing they can do about it.
