Alexis Sanchez has threatened to never play for the club again after his deadline day move to Manchester City was called off by Arsenal (via Goal.com).
It was a stressful day for Arsenal fans but imagine how much worse deadline day was for many of the players involved in these deals.
The likes of Thomas Lemar and Alexis Sanchez would not have known where they would be playing their club football next week and both had to focus on matches for their international teams at the same time.
Lemar fared better than Sanchez in his international match which only added to the Chilean’s disappointment on Thursday night.
It’s clear that Alexis Sanchez wanted to move to Manchester City and after that failed to transpire, the Chilean has reportedly threatened to never play for Arsenal again.
Goal.com report that sources close to Sanchez claim that he feels “messed around” by Arsenal and that he lacks the motivation to continue to play for Arsene Wenger.
Manchester City officials are also disappointed with events but now believe that Sanchez will be available in a cut-price deal in the January transfer window.
It’s unclear how accurate these reports are but if Alexis Sanchez is refusing to play for the club then so be it. It’s a World Cup year and if he wants to represent his country then he’s going to have to perform on the pitch. Arsenal should refuse to play him until he starts acting like a professional.
