Arsenal are close to agreeing to a £7 million deal with Watford for 27-year-old full-back, Kieran Gibbs (via The Evening Standard).
He’s one of the longest-serving players at the club but it seems that Kieran Gibbs’ time at the Emirates is coming to an end.
He’s long been hallmarked as one of the most likely players to leave the club during this summer window and there has been no shortage of suitors.
West Brom, Newcastle and Bournemouth have all been linked with the player in the last couple of months but most were put off by the financial demands of the deal.
The Gunners were reportedly looking for upwards of £15 million earlier in the summer but with just one week left in the window, that figure has been dropped.
Now, Arsenal and Watford are reportedly close to agreeing to a £7 million deal for the player who made 22 appearances for the club last season in all competitions.
Kieran Gibbs has been a loyal servant for Arsenal FC in the nine or so seasons since his first-team breakthrough. It’s a shame to see him leaving but after the arrival of Sead Kolasinac, he is no longer needed. It’s poor business from the club to have left it so long in the window but at least it’s reportedly close to completion.
