Arsene Wenger has again reiterated that Alexis Sanchez will stay at Arsenal after the Chilean was pictured apparently kissing the club’s badge in training (via The Mirror).
It’s the story of the summer for Arsenal and it probably won’t end until we see him on the pitch in red but there has been an update on the future of Alexis Sanchez.
Arsene Wenger has today again reiterated his belief that Alexis Sanchez will stay at the Emirates for at least the next twelve months.
“He is focused. My decision is clear, he will stay. He will accept that,” Wenger said at a press conference ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Chelsea.
“The frame of mind of a footballer is quite easy – once you go out into the game, you focus on that.”
The Chilean was involved in an open training session at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon and was caught on camera apparently kissing the Arsenal badge on his shirt.

“(He is) good, you can see it in training,” Wenger went on. “He needs to work on his fitness but he is sharp and looks like he has never been away.
“I think he will be here for this season. If we manage to do it for more seasons we will.”
Hopefully, Wenger is right and Sanchez does indeed stay at Arsenal for the foreseeable future. The Chilean looked in decent form in the open training session but let’s see if he can translate that onto the pitch. He could well be involved for the Gunners against Chelsea on Sunday.
