Arsenal blow as manager states target has ‘no price’

Arsene Wenger has been dealt a blow in our reported attempts to land Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez after his manager Claudio Ranieri stated that his star man had no price, The Independent reports.

Mahrez is currently joint-top scorer in the Premier League after a sensational start to the season for the Foxes and it has led to reports suggesting that we’re eyeing up a move for the 24-year-old, as The Independent suggests.

However, Ranieri has moved to quash any rumours and stated that there is no price that would convince the club to sell Mahrez, such is his importance.

“We don’t sell him so there is no price,” Ranieri was quoted as saying.

“We won’t sell him so it’s much better if they [other clubs] don’t ask.

“I look at Riyad when we don’t have the ball, I’m trying to help him become the complete player, that is my job.”

Just why we’d be interested in another winger would be slightly odd considering the options we have on either flank at the moment.

Also, given that we have holes in other areas of our squad, fans will be hoping to see Wenger target the midfield and striker positions as his priority.

As deadline day approaches, we’ll most likely be linked with a number of players who Wenger probably has no intention of signing.
