West Brom Rule Out Move For Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs

West Brom manager Tony Pulis has confirmed the club will not sign Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs this summer.

Gibbs has been widely tipped to leave the club before the start of the new season, following the arrival of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.

However, while he may leave, it will not be to the Hawthorns with Pulis ruling out a move for the 27-year-old.

“We won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs,” he said according to the Evening Standard.

“We have to look for players that fit what we want to do and the way we want to play.

“We have three or four other targets we are desperate for. We are juggling with two at the moment and that’s not Gibbs.”

As the report notes, Arsenal are struggling to offload players this summer, with only goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny having departed.

The likes of Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson, Lucas Perez are all expected to leave, but so far remain with the club.

Gibbs, meanwhile, has also been linked with a move to Newcastle and was left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Australia and China, which seemed a big hint he has no future at the club.

The defender made just eight starts in the Premier League last season, and may struggle even more for game time in the coming campaign following the arrival of Kolasinac.
