Alexis Sanchez could be set to stay at Arsenal for at least another season as the club will reportedly refuse to sell him for less than £90 million.
According to the Independent, Arsene Wenger is adamant the Chilean will not leave the club, particularly to Manchester City.
The report claims the only way City could convince Arsenal to part ways with Sanchez, would be with a huge offer, in the region of £90m.
Arsenal, therefore, appear ready to risk keeping hold of Sanchez and seeing him run down his contract and potentially, leave for free next summer.
Wenger believes they need the 28-year-old in the side to sustain a serious title challenge next season and does not want to look too far into the future.
Speculation claims City remain keen to sign Sanchez, but a £90m deal looks hugely unlikely, particularly as he has just a year left to run on his current deal.
Therefore, unless Sanchez pushes for a move, it could well be that he will still be at the club next season, despite all the speculation.
City seem the other realistic buyer, with Bayern Munich seemingly having dropped out of the running, and while Inter have been rumoured to hold an interest, it’s difficult to see Sanchez heading to San Siro.
