Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a third bid of £45 million for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, as they continue to target the 21-year-old.
According to the Mail on Sunday, the Gunners will offer a deal that could rise to £50m, with add-ons, as they refuse to take no for an answer.
Arsenal are believed to have already failed with two previous bids, but are hoping they can tempt Monaco into selling the France international.
However, the French champions are extremely reluctant to part company with Lemar, particularly having already lost Bernardo Silva, and with Kylian Mbappe and Tiemoue Bakayoko being linked with moves away.
Other reports have claimed Monaco are holding out for £80m for Lemar, and whether or not that is true, what is clear is that Monaco will not let Lemar go easily.
Arsenal’s back-up plan should they fail to land Lemar, appears to be Riyad Mahrez, but it is starting to look as though Lemar really is their priority at the moment.
If the club do manage to land the Monaco star, it will take their spending to over £100m already, having this week managed to land Alexandre Lacazette for a club-record fee.
