Arsenal will reportedly refuse to sell Alexis Sanchez or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, despite both players entering the final year of their contracts.
According to the Daily Star, the club are insisting they will not let either player leave, with Manchester City keen on Sanchez and Liverpool reportedly interested in the Ox.
The club are therefore ready to risk both players leaving for nothing next summer, when their contracts expire, if they do not renew in the meantime.
Having seen players leave for Premier League rivals in the past, Arsenal are adamant that will not happen again, as they try to build a title challenge.
The club have already brought in Alexandre Lacazette and are also reportedly eyeing moves for Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez.
While their desire to keep hold of both players is understandable, it may prove difficult if bids arrive, or if either player agitates for a move.
Arsenal are also aware that they must trim the squad before the start of the season, in order to comply with Premier League rules.
The club may also need to trim the wage bill, particularly if there are further arrivals and if Mesut Ozil signs a new deal, as is now expected.
Recent speculation has claimed that Sanchez has already told Arsenal he wants to leave with City having made a £47m bid for the Chilean.
