The Edinson Cavani to Arsenal rumours have snowballed out of control in what has seemingly been a matter of moments, with a £45m deal now agreed, as reported by the Daily Star.
It emerged this past Monday evening that Arsene Wenger had been spotted on a flight to Paris (via the Daily Star), with Arsenal fans hoping it was to secure a deal for the Uruguayan.
The report emanated from a Twitter account named GestiFuteFifa, which tweeted a picture which appeared to be Wenger on a plane. The news spread like wildfire, with the Twitterverse taking the story and running with it.

GestiFuteFifa then claimed a deal was close to completion, with a £45m fee agreed and a medical set for deadline day (via the Star). This was enough for the Star, who claim it’s “deal done” where the Paris Saint-Germain star is concerned.
The report does suggest that the claims are “highly sensational”, but we’ll have to wait and see if there’s any truth behind the rumours.
