Aubameyang Admits He Could Leave Dortmund

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given an interesting update on his future, admitting that he could leave Borussia Dortmund. The forward was reportedly the subject of a bid from Arsenal last year and if these quotes are anything to go by, a transfer isn’t completely out of the question (via The Metro).

He’s one of the top strikers in the world and perhaps the only one who could potentially move clubs in the coming years. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 100 goals in 165 matches for Borussia Dortmund and was even awarded Bundesliga Player of the Season last term. However, the forward’s future at the German giants has been in some doubt for a while and after reports that Arsenal made a club-record bid for the striker, Aubameyang has now admitted that he could leave Dortmund.

“No one can predict the future,” Aubameyang told Fussball Bild. ‘The only thing for sure is that I’m currently with Dortmund and I love it there.

“But I cannot say that I’ll stay for another two, five or 10 years. It is possible that in June a club comes to an agreement with Dortmund.

“At the moment I really don’t think about it. I focus only on the work with my team-mates with Dortmund and Gabon.”

It’s an interesting set of quotes and the forward has already ruled out one possible destination. “Never would I switch to Bayern,” he told the German publication.

It’s an interesting story and it could be good news for Gunners fans. Arsenal are one of the few clubs in world football who not only have a need for a player like Aubameyang but also have the financial means to pull off the transfer. On current form, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud are doing extremely well but if the Chilean international were to leave the club then Aubameyang would be a pretty good replacement.
