Paris Saint-Germain are set to make yet another move for Arsene Wenger and are confident the Frenchman will agree to take over from Unai Emery, according to The Sun.
Emery has only been in charge for six months but has come under pressure after a disappointing start to the season with the champions currently five points behind leaders Monaco.
The French side are determined to finally land their man, having been rebuffed by Wenger in the past, but will wait until the summer when his contract expires.
The report claims Emery could even be sacked as early as March, should PSG be knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona.
The club would then put an interim coach in place until the end of the season, with Wenger then lined up to take charge as soon as his contract with Arsenal expires.
PSG are willing to offer Wenger a £10 million a year deal to join the club and will finance a spending spree with the club keen to get back on track.
Owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi is believed to have a close relationship with Wenger with the other candidates on his list should Wenger say no again, including Roberto Mancini, Louis Van Gaal and Clarence Seedorfs.
Wenger has yet to confirm his plans for next season but has previously stated his future will largely depend on the club’s results this season.
The boss will celebrate his 68th birthday next year but has also admitted he would manage another club if he were to end his reign at Arsenal after 20 years.
With Wenger now nearing the last six months of his current deal and still no confirmation as to his plans for another this season it’s no surprise to see him linked with a move back to France yet again.
