Arsenal are considering Marco Reus as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, should they lose their talisman, according to the Daily Mail.
The Chile international is still to agree a new deal with Arsenal and the latest reports claim he has been offered £400,000-per-week to leave the club from clubs in China.
The Gunners fear Sanchez may use his offer from the Far East as a bargaining tool and have taken steps to consider replacements should the worst happen and the forward fail to agree a new deal.
The club’s scouts have reportedly identified Reus as the perfect replacement for Sanchez and have delivered glowing reports on the Borussia Dortmund man.
This is not the first time Arsenal have been linked with the Germany international who has seen his career disrupted by injuries in recent seasons.
However, the 27-year-old is now back in action after a long lay-off that saw him miss out on Euro 2016 and has been in impressive form for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Reus could fit into Sanchez’s position on the left but also has the versatility to play anywhere across the front line, although there may still be some concern over his injury record.
While replacing Sanchez, particularly on current form, looks to be an unenviable task, Reus has certainly returned to action with a bang collecting three assists at the weekend as Dortmund crushed Borussia Monchengladbach 4-1.
