David Ospina wants to hold talks with Arsene Wenger to discuss his future at Arsenal, according to The Mirror.
Although the Colombia international has been Arsenal’s Champions League and FA Cup goalkeeper this season he is believed to want more first-team football.
Ospina will not look to leave the club in January, particularly as the club have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League, but wants his future resolved at the end of the season.
Despite some impressive performances this season Ospina is unlikely to replace Petr Cech as the club’s number one and may have to look elsewhere if he is determined to play regular football.
The 28-year-old was expected to leave the club last season but saw a potential move to Besiktas fall through.
Arsenal have already sought to tie third choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez down with the youngster signing a new long-term contract last month.
Arsene Wenger has described Martinez as “the future goalkeeper at this club” and he may be set for more chances should Ospina depart in the summer.
Ospina is expected to start Tuesday’s Champions League clash with FC Basel but feels he needs more football particularly with Colombia bidding to reach the 2018 World Cup In Russia.
Colombia are currently sixth in their qualifying group but are just two points off Chile and Ecuador in third place on 20 points and have some crucial fixtures to come.
First choice Petr Cech will turn 35 next May but is contracted to the Gunners until 2019 and certainly seems to show few signs of slowing down yet.
