Arsene Wenger appears to be up to his old tricks once again, and is looking to raid the bargain bin in January. The Frenchman is apparently looking at bringing Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin to the Emirates, with a cut-price £4.3m deal being touted, as reported by Russian publication Izvestia (via the Metro).
We’ve been linked with the 24-year-old in the past, and the report suggests we’ve reopened negotiations. Personal terms have allegedly already been agreed, so it’s now just a matter of finalising things with his current club Dynamo Moscow.
It’s unclear whether Dynamo will sanction a move in January, as they may not want to lose the player mid-season. If they do so however, then they will lose him for free next summer, so the report claims either way he’s set to become an Arsenal player.
Hopefully the Russian side would prefer not to lose the forward for nothing, and agree to let him leave the club in January. We could do with some reinforcements this winter, despite the form of Olivier Giroud at the moment.

Kokorin may not be the top quality striker that Arsenal fans were hoping to see join the club this January, but he’s certainly got goals in him. He’s scored four in eight league appearances so far this season, as well as a handful of others in all competitions.
