Reports in Italy suggest that Unai Emery has identified the player he wants to replace Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal (via Sport Witness).
If reports are to be believed, Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Welshman has been a staple for the club in the centre of midfield for much of the last decade and will obviously need replacing.
Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi have arrived in recent months but there’s a feeling that another incoming signing will need to be made.
Now, reports in Italy suggest that the Gunners have found their man in the shape of Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The 21-year-old is a highly lauded player in Italy and has drawn comparisons with Steven Gerrard.
Gazzetta Dello Sport has claimed that Arsenal have been scouting the player for some time but there is a problem with Cagliari said to be asking for upwards of €50 million for their star man.
Not much is known about Nicolo Barella but he seems like a quality young player. Aaron Ramsey will need replacing but that may be a little out of Arsenal’s price range considering there are other weaknesses in the squad.
