Back in 2015 Nabil Fekir’s father was quoted as saying that if his son were to leave Lyon then it would be for a club like Arsenal – and with the likely departures of both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez by next summer this admission by the attacker’s father seems timely, according to the Mirror.
However, the quote from Fekir’s father did mention that Arsene Wenger would be the real reason his son would move to the Emirates Stadium – allowing him to fulfil his potential and play regular football. This will split opinion among some of the Arsenal faithful who will be hoping Wenger calls time at the end of the season; discontent which was further fuelled after the 3-1 defeat away to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Frenchman is a player bang in form in France, having scored 11 goals in 11 appearances in Ligue 1, assisting three times in the process.
It would seemingly be great business for Arsenal, bringing in a player that would link-up with former teammate Alexandre Lacazette, and potentially give Wenger more reason to start his record transfer striker, unlike this past Sunday.
The report also states that Nabil Fekir has ruled out joining PSG due to him not being interested in any other French club than Lyon, and is attracted by the Premier League and La Liga at clubs that would seek to ‘play football’.
